To get your bicycle chic style inspiration on and your juices going take a look at this (May 9, 2007) Fashion Show. Wine and Bicycle Chic ..I love It!

Here’s a quote from William Leigon-- President, Hahn Estates/Cycles Gladiator Wine

"We wanted to do something to help promote cycling and riding a bike to work. The name of our wine is Cycles Gladiator, and what we wanted to show that you don't have to be inhibited and worry about wearing spandex that's tight and lumpy and that kind of stuff...that we could create fashion that was chic. Fashion that showed the freedom of movement and could be exciting and creative for people today to ride their bikes to work."

Shopper’s Alert: THE Best Bicycle Chic Product Finds

I’ve culled an amazing assortment of bicycle chic products for you to savor and take a look at.

You get a photo of the product, the price, my editorialized description of the product and (in most cases) a direct link to the ‘buy it now’ button …and then it’s yours!

I’ve listed almost 30 products (and growing) in lots of categories. Things with prices ranging from $5.00 bicycle ankle cuffs to $$$ for Parisian Hotel accommodations which includes an incredible chic bicycle plus bicycle valet service.

My dilemma. I debated a long time if I wanted to showcase these products on this blog. I’ve been saving my best finds forever! I decided to make it simple; visually organized, easy, appealing and really handy for you.

Some categories I’ve listed; bicycles, bicycles skirts, helmets, gloves, baskets, basket liners, bags, jackets, goggles, steamers, bells, and more!

Enjoy…

Why DO You Want To Take My Photo? …

She asked. And I answered ...because I love your flowers.

Classic Calender - Go Rally..Wear Your Best Outfit & Ride

I've been looking for good Calendar.

Here is one to get started with. The focus is to encourage those interested in enjoying and reserving vintage lightweight "racing " style bicycles of the period from the early 20th century until 1983.

I'm not much of a racer though..I'm definitely a part of the SLOW MOVEMENT lifestyle..I live in 'gourmet ghetto' world of Berkeley. I still love the idea of any excuse to get on my bicycle and dress up.

How not to show your undies when you wear your skirt on a bike!

Lisa Foster ........offers the BEST idea yet!

‘Here is my solution to skirts that flip up: find an elastic band that fits around your thigh (I use a headband, but you could use a garter if you’re feeling VERY diva), then attach a safety pin to it, and slip it on 6 inches or so above your knee. When you get on your bike, fasten that safety pin to the inside of your skirt. The skirt stays down! If you’re feeling very demure, you could do this on both legs, but one usually does the trick.’

Leave it to Lanvin...

It's official. Alber Elbaz can do no wrong. For fall '08 the Lanvin designer delivered a downright beautiful collection (surprise, surprise) with looks that could literally be plucked right off the runway and put into real way ('my' real way, that's for sure!). In other words, completely wearable styles that don't require a break down piece by piece. My personal favorites? Elbaz's amazingly chic ribboned tops paired with slim knee-length skirts, glitzed-out gold cocktail dresses, and belted skirt suits and draped dresses--all perfectly balanced with decadent crystal necklaces and long leather gloves. By far, my favorite of the fall collections.

A Saturday night @ Strata, 23rd Street

This is the lovely Soni. How cute does she look in her high-waisted pants and wrist full of bangles? Work it, girl.

Bike to Work Day

Warm weather approaches and the layers and layers of clothing get stripped off gleefully. Spring is such a nice time of year with plenty to get excited about. I’m already really looking forward to Bike to Work Day in May.

So what does one wear to work and still feel stylish and comfortable riding a bicycle?
How about a fashion show for Bike to Work Day!! Well it’s a thought that’s just popped into my head, so let’s see what happens. Keep posted here and I’ll be sure to let you know. Have any suggestion, thoughts or collaboration ideas you want to contribute for a fashion show? So gratefully, just send them along. You will get credit and thanks.

Also do you have photos of yourself your bicycle and in what you think looks really good? Hey another idea that just popped into my head!!! I will post the best photo(s) and will look at what you are wearing and send you one of my helmet covers to compliment/match your outfit. If your photo gets posted that means you’ve won and you are the best among the best. Expect your prize to follow soon. This is interesting because you could be in a position to have one of my helmet covers before I’ve even put them up for sale on Etsy.com. I’m still waiting to finalize on some copyright stuff and want my beauties (helmet covers) to have their paperwork in order before I release them into the wild.
