Portland, Oregon 1st Annual Tweed Ride!
Yes, photos are starting to appear from the Portland Oregon 1st Annual Tweed Ride!
This photo by William200549 (on Flickr) was my immediate first choice because I just love pedicabs! Really there were quite a number of excellent photos but you'll just have to go see for yourself. You can see the rest of his photos here.
From what I can gather at this early stage (the ride just happened earlier today) is while the streets were wet with the weather on the damp side, the Tweed Ride was a great success!

Nike's Syracuse Futura Collection Launch Party...Nike Store, NYC
1/27/10
Legendary New York graffiti artist Futura is a regular when it comes to collaborating with Nike (the two have teamed on limited-edition, collectible sneakers and sportswear for years). On Monday night they celebrated their newest venture—the Syracuse Futura Collection—at Nike's 21 Mercer store in SoHo. I stopped by for a little while, long enough to catch a few pics of Futura and even check out Nike's exclusive design studio (oooh...). Unfortunately I missed the Q & A at the beginning of the party, which I'm told included a few Syracuse University alumni, ESPN's Jay Corbin and, of course, Futura, followed by a raffle where 21 autographed basketballs were given away. O'well. I know as much about basketball as I do about rocket science, so, with that said, click on this link to learn more about the collaboration and purchase pieces from the new collection.

The artist making his mark on one lucky guests' shoe (can you say "instant collector's item?"...hope they don't end up on eBay)
More shoes from the collection
Futura-designed, down to the sole
Guests
Nike's wall of fame—and the entrance to the design studio
Inside The Design Studio: This wall got me excited. I'm no sneaker head but this display of design options is pure eye candy...like Skittles—you can just taste the rainbow. (Sure wish my favorite shoe designers would offer this service...)
Sole and fabric options...
A rainbow of laces and thread...
Is it me or is there also something very cool about shiny metal tools...?
The Syracuse Futura Collection Orangemen logo checking out all the action at the Nike store
A Little Souvenir: An Orangemen patch. Again, I know nothing about basketball, but I think this lil' guy's cute. I'm gonna sew him onto my jean jacket this weekend.
Hi Heels Bicycle Chic - Farmers Market
(photos by RidingPretty)
Yesterday I was all enamored of Paris...that fabulous photo depicting a very glamorous lady wearing incredible green hi heels - on her bicycle winding her way through the streets.
Ha, look at these pretty 'cinderella glass slipper' shoes worn here on a bicycle shopping trip to the local Farmers Market! It just proves bicycling and what you wear is in the mind of the beholder. When I met both these charming ladies they were just getting ready to park their bicycles and then go off and shop the market. Each one expressing individual styles of dressing to be sure.
Quite often I am apt to 'overdress' compared to the style choices my friends make especially as to what to wear when to comes to riding a bicycle. I always follow my own beat. My mother who was a Fashion Professional having worked her entire life career in Fashion was no shy flower herself. Her motto "always better to be stylishly overdressed than to be utterly forgettable". I also had a very eccentric English great grandmother known for her scandalous bohemian ensembles...so I guess it runs in the blood.
Do you dress as you choose? Co-Consult with girlfriends first? Does it even matter why or what you wear when you bicycle?
The Amsterdam Chainsaw Massacre...
Thrillingly impractical but absolutly gorgeous right? The last two are my favourites! I am in love with the colours! Magdalena looks stunning... What do you think?

A Ballectic Performance Showcases Spring...
Fashion's Raw Edges and Powdery Textures.
I decided to purchase this months issue of Dazed & Confused and there is something about this editorial which is photographed by Ben Toms that I really like! Very textural which I love! Just shows what can be done with textiles. The rest of the editorial is lovely! Must check it out!

Estee Lauder Michael Kors Very Hollywood Collection
It is only January and i'm already wondering who is going to top this collection.
The Michael Kors Very Hollywood Collection from Estee Lauder is possibly the most wearable collection I have ever seen.
Infact, I would wear every single product and whats more, they would all suit me.
It is comprised of neutrals, nudes, fleshtones, soft peaches and hot pinks. Check it out when it hits the counters in Feb as it is a sure sell out.

Courtney Love request
Those that follow us on Twitter may have noticed that Courtney Love has asked me to create a look from one of the first Illamasqua collections
I have finally found the time to film it. Hopefully, I will get it edited and uploaded tonight but in the meantime here is a preview picture. Obviously this look isn't an exact replica of Alex Box's but I hope that it has a similar vibe.
